GregTech Wires are used to transfer GregTech 5's own Energy and in many crafting recipes.
The energy system is explained here. Wires have twice as much loss as Cables and can shock Players and Mobs touching them while transferring Energy. Wires can also power IC2 EU accepting Machines.
Wires can be made from many different conducting Metals and can have an thickness of 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 12x and 16x.
Also Covers can be used on Wires. Shutter Module and Machine Controller together can be used as power switch.
