The Wand Focus: Shock is a wand focus added by Thaumcraft 4. When equipped to a wand, it will shoot a bolt of lightning when the right mouse button is pressed. It homes in slightly to the nearest mob/player from where it is aimed. Its base vis cost is 0.25
per cast.

- Frugal: Reduces the vis cost of activating the focus's powers by 10% per level.
- Potency: Increases the damage or strength of the focus's powers. The exact damage increase varies from focus to focus, but is usually about 20% per level.
- Enlarge: Increases the number of targets hit or area of effect for Chain Lightning and Earth Shock respectively.
- Chain Lightning: Bolt of lightning hits multiple targets; number of targets hit increases with ranks in Enlarge.
- Earth Shock: The focus produces a ball of electrical energy that does damage to mobs in the affected area. The area hit by the ball remains electrified for some time; area of effect increases with ranks in Enlarge.
