The Wand Focus: Primal is a wand focus added by Thaumcraft 4. Holding right-click with it equipped will hurl an orb of primal energy. The orb explodes on impact, and has a small chance to cause other effects, such as creating taint, or a node at the impact site. Its base vis cost changes every tick.

- Frugal: This upgrade reduces the vis cost of activating the focus's powers by 10% per level.
- Seeker: This upgrade makes the orbs created by the primal focus seek out the nearest living target and not wander all over the place. This makes them a lot more stable, which also means they won't do anything unusual beyond exploding.

What madness possessed you to create this thing? This focus seems wildly dangerous and only a lunatic will attempt to use it anywhere but the most controlled environments.
Granted, the orb or raw primal energy it creates is quite devestating [sic], but its path of travel is erratic at best and downright malicious at worst.
It does beg further study however: The orb shows some intersting [sic] properties and it exhibits energy patters you have only seen in wisps and aura nodes.
