They way the review system works is that when a user makes an edit in the main, project and template namespaces, those edits will be marked for reviewing by reviewers and editors. If the page has at least one reviewed version of the page, then that version will be displayed for non-users, otherwise the latest version is always displayed. The review list is currently backed up to February 25th. The following is the default criteria for being autopromoted to an "Editor", they have the autochecked right and will automatically approve any edits they make, they can also review edits. Template shifting upon editing a page.

Hi, as you know I'm not familiar with the wiki that much, though I'm trying to watch some tutorials. Anyway, whenever I edit a page the template on the right always centers itself in the middle of the page, causing the text to go around it. Which "preview" option are you using? There is the Preview button on the top of the source edit box, next to the Wikitext tab, which will not show template info (crafting tables appear empty, etc). There is also the "show preview" button next to the "save changes" button, which should show you all of the correct stuff. On the current page I was editing I forgot to preview it, my mind just went straight to clicking save. After it was saved, the infobox would appear in the center on the page, but after a refresh of the page it would go back to normal. Also, another question. 1. Okay, so it seems like the problem isn't really a problem, just a weird wiki hiccup? 2. Read some of the stuff linked in my talk archive, namely the stuff prior to joining the team. I also read the source for a lot of reviewed pages. I'm not gonna lie, I have a folder in my Wiki folder titled "Page Structures", where I keep layouts of the different types of common pages. Thaumcraft 4 tilesheet

Translating pages not visible in translation interface?

Hello, I was wondering if there is a best way to translate the "single-item-related" pages on the wiki (such as the page) than to simply edit a new nameOfEnglishPage\fr page, since there is no category for this in the translation interface (those pages are maybe not marked for translation)? Is it just a MediaWiki lacking feature, or is it intended? I now take care of this since my translations are filled with links that leads nowhere. Sorry, I think I've been unclear. For example, you use the translation interface to translate a page, let's name it A. When you translate a link of the page A, in the page A/fr, the MediaWiki system automatically turn links that point to a page X into links pointing to a page X/fr. That looks like a great feature, but sometime X/fr don't exists yet (X has not been translated yet), and the page X is not listed in the translation interface, so there is no way to translate it later, excepts by manually creating a page named X/fr and pasting the source code of X, then translating it. That's clearly not convenient, and I was thus wondering if there is something we could do to ease this process. -- Luxim (talk) 21:15, 15 June 2014 (BST)

  2. There's a link in page A that leads to page B
  3. Page B exists, but page B/languagecode doesn't exist
  4. Appears as a red link

IC2 Texture Request

The blocks haven't been done correctly. You need to get the from NEI or your inventory. No you didn't :P You took gigantic in-world screenshots and (somehow had the patience to) remove the background. As Real said, you need to take the screenshots from in your inventory for the blocks, so they render like they would in-game. ...Or if you are using Gimp (/is better) then you have a colour selector, magic wand and other useful tools. Plus, I find Gimp more user-friendly, and the best part: it's free. You just need to zoom in and crop everything except the 32x32 pixel area of the item. You prepare pages for translations by:

  • surrounding text to translate with the translate tag.
    If the page is a template or is expected to be transcluded onto other pages, wrap the translate tag with the noinclude tag.
  • adding {{L|T}} to the name of templates and categories.
  • changing normal links to {{L}}.
  • making sure the page is complete and is not subject to change in the near future.
  • cleaning up any formatting errors.
  • append the langbar to the page.

If you guys have altered any of those rules, you guys did not update the translation guide and did not fix old translatable pages. --

Template Help

  • The Ore Washing Plant just has 1 more output slot (next to the other two). That is the only difference.
  • For the first Canning Machine (called the Solid Canner in the assets folder, but Canning Machine in game):
    • The left slot is for items to be canned
      The middle slot is for cells/fuel rods to have the items canned into
      The right slot is for the outputted item
      The slot underneath the energy icon is for batteries
  • For the Bottling Plant:
    • The top slot going into the tank is input for filled cells
      The bottom slot going into the tank is the input for empty cells
      The slot coming out of the tank is for the outputted full cells
      The tank stores liquid that either taken either from cells or pumped in
      The slot underneath the energy icon is for batteries
  • For the (other) Canning Machine - Look here to see different uses
    • Fluid Enrich:
      • The top left slot is for items to be canned into (CF Backpack or CF Sprayer for example)
        The middle slot is the item to be enriched
        The left tank is the fluid to be enriched
        The right slot is for items which are full (eg: A full CF Backpack, or CF Sprayer)
        The right tank is for the enriched fluid (which didn't fit in an item or the item was full)
      Fill Cell From Tank Mode:
      • The top left slot is for cells to be filled

Hi SS, Thanks for the message. I was trying to use the images I had uploaded as banners for a WIP Magical Crops mod page, but I didn't know what I was doing, so I messed that up, sorry. Just please delete anything I screwed up. In the future, I'll do images the way it's meant to be done, if/when I need them. My sandbox: yes, I realized that after I previewed the article's page. I'm going to remove the sandbox page for now, and leave it for testing of a different sort. I found the formatting I needed on one of the Wiki's guide pages, so that's fixed now. Template:Navbox portals has a bunch of links to various things that you may want to read. Also, use ~~~~ at the end of your messages, as it adds a signature with a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. ~~~~ adds a signature without a timestamp. clarification on reviewing and patrolling

Pages in the main, file and template namespace needs to be reviewed, consecutive unreviewed edits can be reviewed at once. Pages with no reviewed revisions will display the latest revision, pages with reviewed revisions will display the most latest reviewed revision for anon users. You can tweak this behavior per page with the "Stabilize page" link in the admin toolbox on the right, or per user in the user's preference.

All other pages are under the patrol system. Every single edit must be patrolled, to patrol click the diff link in the pages' history or on the recent changes page. The latest revision will always be displayed.

This is part of the wiki content moderation process, so patrol and review everything when prompted. Do not ask why. --

They are all items, but I'm not sure how they are implemented. If Sengir was clever, he might've made a grey Bee and a grey Tree and just hardcoded the colors in. Check the assets first, and if I'm correct get them from in game, if I'm wrong, get them from the assets. Basically, the link is to the code for the IC2 wiki's crafting template for pretty much every machine in IC2 before experimental (it can apparently do any of the machines, depending on what you set). Looking at ones on the FTB wiki, they all seem a lot simpler. I was asking whether it was changing to the fancy tilesheet/ore dictionary way that the FTB wiki uses makes the templates simpler, or if it's just the IC2 one (which is still using the grid system) is very over complicated. Crafting Template Improvement

In Template:X8, I made it so adding |shapeless=True to the crafting template gives a note about the recipe being shapeless. I admit I don't have complete understanding how it all works (the "shapeless" for example I'm pretty sure can't be translated) but it works, and isn't that far off perfect (from what I could tell). Fluid Dilemma

Since IC2 adds 10 fluids, I'll need to upload the Liquid *Name*.png files, which is fine. The problem I have is, that Forestry already has a biomass: Liquid Biomass.png, so how could I distinguish that from IC2's biomass? Also, would liquid construction foam be called Liquid Construction_Foam.png? I got all the AE2 tiles I will need. Some have [AE2] prefixed at the start, or it could overlap with the AE1 names.

Ore Dictionary Blitz

Moving away from what ever happened, when/are we ever going to blitz the ore dictionary list, now that Gregtech no longer adds majority of the entries (as well as other mods, but mainly Gregtech), and entries for things like TE2 machines don't exist any more? Microblock Problems

There's the 5 extra icons - Link. Doubt 5 extra things to the end would be huge, so adding them on the end rather than shifting a lot of it down IMO would be the least likely way to screw up the wiki. Chocohead NagEditsStaff 21:20, 18 October 2014 (BST)
So long as you keep the existing tilesheet when using my code, it'll add new items to available spots without shifting existing items.
