Usage of lazy loading

Is it really necessary for this mod? There aren't very many things in the navbox. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 02:22, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Working with lua is generally a lot easier then without it; all future navboxes I will create are going to use it. -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki (talk) 11:11, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
Lua != lazy loading. There is a correlation since they're both methods used to deal with overly large navboxes, however please avoid lazy loading except when the navbox is really large (which this one is not). I don't hold an opinion on whether or not to use lua for this, on one hand it is more annoying since you can't see your changes until they are marked for translation and FuzzyBot gets around to it, on the other hand... uh... something? ๐Ÿ‡Retep998๐Ÿ‡๐ŸฐBunny Overlord๐Ÿฐ 11:38, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
Is it possible to make a navbox in lua without lazy loading? FuzzyBot doesn't take much time at all btw, except when it derps out. -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki (talk) 19:20, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
Of course it is. Just put {{#invoke:Navbox|navbox|Foobar|name=Navbox Foobar|collapse=open}} in the main template instead of the Lazy template invocation. ๐Ÿ‡Retep998๐Ÿ‡๐ŸฐBunny Overlord๐Ÿฐ 03:33, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
We should decide on a maximum number of "objects" (can't think of another word because I'm Rubying) in a Navbox before a lazy-load is necessary. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 00:36, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
Um, "tiles"? -Xbony2, Master of Feed The Beast Wiki (talk) 00:44, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
"Tiles" does not include standard links, which would be included in "objects". -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 01:52, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
I'd personally prefer to do it based on how long the template takes to build. If its over X seconds, then it should be lazy loaded. ๐Ÿ‡Retep998๐Ÿ‡๐ŸฐBunny Overlord๐Ÿฐ 03:34, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
That is a better idea. Although that number would probably be directly related to the number of tiles/objects in the navbox. Your idea is better on principal though. -- SatanicSantaFTB Wiki Admin 05:25, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
