The hobbyist's steam engine takes 4,800 ticks to burn a unit of Coke Coal when starting up. I can't find any evidence that fuel lasts any longer later when the Engine is hot. So the "uses less fuel when hot" claim seems false. Also 4800 ticks does NOT correspond to the advertised heat capacity of coke coal (3200). Which brings me to the question: There are a lot of modded - and non modded - devices that deal with various solid fuels in minecraft. I cannot find an authoritative source on this wiki or anywhere, of how long various solid fuel items should burn for. Other than the Iron Furnace page which lists heat units (basically how many ticks the fuel burns for) for a number of vanilla fuels. Fudge (talk) 08:04, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
- Get NEI Integration. It tells you exactly how many ticks any given item will burn in a vanilla furnace. However it is 1.7.10 specific, so there might be something for higher MC versions, I dunno. 🐇Retep998🐇🐰Bunny Overlord🐰 16:22, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
