The Steel Sheep is a creature added by the Steel Sheep mod. They are found naturally spawned in the Extreme Hills biomes. They have 20 () health points. Despite being notorious, the Steel Sheep is considered passive; it will not attack the player in any circumstance. However, it does have one defense from attacks; the sheep's wool is, as the name of the mob suggests, made out of a sharp form of Steel. Touching the sheep once will inflict 1 (
) point of damage.
Killing a Steel Sheep will not drop anything but a small amount of Experience Points. To gain Steel Wool it must be sheared off. Shearing a Steel Sheep gives 1-3 Steel Wool, but the player must be very close to the sheep to shear it.
Although shearing takes off most of the sheep's Steel Wool, touching the Sheep after being sheared will still hurt players for 1 () point of damage. Shearing the sheep will also cause it to it to panic, and it will run around traumatically. Over time, the Steel will regrow. The mod originally had Steel Sheep eat Iron Ore to regrow it, in the same way a normal Sheep eats Grass, but this was never implemented.
Wolves do not attack Steel Sheep. Steel Sheep can be fed Wheat but offspring will never be produced. However, Steel Sheep babies are in the game; right-clicking a full-grown Steel Sheep with a Steel Sheep Egg will summon a baby Steel Sheep. A baby Steel Sheep acts just like an adult Steel Sheep; it can be sheared and has the same AI.
