I've created a simple method for measuring steam within a conduit. I can simply slap on one of these to a boiler, pipe, tank, or other device and it will visually display the pressure, outputting a corresponding redstone signal to comparators.

The Steam Gauge is a block from Flaxbeard's Steam Power. It is used to measure steam pressure within machines, Pipe, tanks, or other steam-holding devices. The gauge will move closer to the right side when given more steam, and to the left when it loses steam. It must be placed directly onto a face of the desired machine. It will output a redstone signal, with a strength of 0-15 based on how full the steam container is, to Redstone Comparators.
