The Sponge is a block from the OpenBlocks mod. This block is similar to the Vanilla Sponge, though it is obtainable in a Survival world. The Sponge will remove all water blocks that are touching it within a 3x3x3 block radius around it. As of version 1.2.9, it can be broken quicker with an axe type tool.
