Spells are the main mechanic added by Electroblob's Wizardry. Spells can be found either on Spell Books or on Scrolls, which are found in Dungeons, by killing Evil Wizards, as a rare drop from other monsters or by trading with Wizards.
Casting[]
Each spell has a unique effect. Spells placed on Scrolls can be cast by simply using the Scroll, which will consume it in the process. Spells on Spell Books need to be placed either on a Magic Wand of the appropriate level or on a Blank Scroll on an Arcane Workbench.
Spells placed on a Magic Wand can then be cast by selecting the appropriate spell then using it, provided the Wand contains enough Mana to cast it.
Some spells are continuous, meaning that the spell continues to be cast as long as the player holds right click. These spells consume Mana every second instead of just on cast, and cannot be put on Scrolls.
Wizards and Evil Wizards are also able to cast Spells, although they don't have access to all of them.
Attributes[]
Type[]
Spells are divided in 4 types: Attack, Defence, Utility and Minion. Currently this has no gameplay effect.
Tier[]
Spells are divided in 4 tiers: Novice, Apprentice, Advanced and Master. Spells of a higher tier are rarer and usually more costly, but also more powerful than lower tier ones. A Spell can only be cast by a Magic Wand of the same Tier or higher.
Element[]
- Main article: Elements
Spells are divided in 7 different elements (8 when counting Magic). Spells of a specific element can be made more powerful or cheaper by using a Magic Wand or Wizard Robes of the same element.
Mana Cost[]
Spells cost a certain amount of Mana to use. This Mana is either taken from the used Magic Wand, or is paid in Magic Crystals when the Scroll is created in the Arcane Workbench.
Cooldown[]
After a spell is used on a Magic Wand, it goes in cooldown and cannot be used again for several seconds. This cooldown varies from spell to spell.
Cooldowns can be reduced either by applying Wand Cooldown Upgrades to the Magic Wand, or through the effect of the Font of Mana spell.
