The Singularity Compressor is a machine from IndustrialCraft 2 Classic. It is an upgraded version of the Compressor that uses the 'heat-up' mechanic of the Induction Furnace.
Recipe[]
Usage[]
The Singularity Compressor consumes EU to compress items into denser forms, for use in the processing of advanced materials. It uses the same recipe list as the IndustrialCraft 2 Compressor. It accepts up to 128EU/t, but only consumes up to 16EU/t when active.
Like the Induction Furnace, the Singularity Compressor must pressurize before it can be used efficiently. A Singularity Compressor takes 10,000 ticks (8 minutes 20 seconds) to reach full pressure. The Compressor will gain pressure when it is actively grinding items, or when it is fed a Redstone signal, and it will lose pressure when neither of these are present. Pressure is lost at 4x the rate it can be gained. A 0% pressure Compressor requires 4000 ticks to process an item, however a 100% pressure Compressor requires 12 ticks to process an item. While a Singularity Compressor is spinning up (with no items to compress), it consumes 1 EU/t. However, once an item is inserted, its energy consumption increases to 16 EU/t. By these numbers, a heavily overclocked conventional Compressor can operate more quickly than a Singularity Compressor, but will consume enormous amounts of energy to do so.
The Singularity Compressor's GUI contains 1 Input slot, 1 Battery slot, 2 Output slots, and 2 Upgrade slots. It will accept all IC2C upgrades except the Overclocker Upgrade.
