The Routed Request Pipe connects with all other pipes from Project Red as well as with Chests where the requested items are collected. If more than one Chest is adjacent to the pipe only one of those Chests is connected to the pipe (show in the picture). The active connection can be changed with a Screwdriver.
Area 3 is the storage area with the Chest connected to Routed Interface pipes with an integrated Item Broadcaster chip.
In area 1 is a Routed Request Pipe with connected chest.
If the player opens the GUI of the Routed Request Pipe, then all items displayed are stored in area 3. The player can then request an item and it will be transmitted from the storage area to the Routed Request Pipe (area 1) and will be stored in the connected chest.
Picture 1: The picture shows a Routed Junction Pipe between three chests, but it is the same for the Routed Request Pipe. Only one chest can be actively connected, which can be recognized by the yellow lines on the pipe.
Picture 2: Example of an automatic crafting system with the pipes and cards from Project Red, with integrated request system. (Explanation in the text)
