The Red Iron Compound is an item added by Project Red and is the basic element for the Red Alloy Ingot.

In the normal way you need 8 Redstone and 1 Iron Ingot for one Red Alloy Compound. If you have the mod Thermal Expansion installed, you can produce in the Induction Smelter directly one Red Alloy Ingot with only 4 Redstone and 1 Iron Ingot (see Red Alloy Ingot Recipe).
