The Rain Sensor is a redstone circuit added by Project Red. It is a logic gate which emits a redstone signal, if rain falls on it (see Usage).

The Rain Sensor has only one output side for red alloy cables, redstone, an adjacent circuit, machine, lamp or anything that can be controlled with redstone signals. It emits a redstone signal on the output side, if rain falls directly on the sensor. There must be no block between the sensor and the sky.
Using the screwdriver from Project Red, the orientation of the gate can be changed freely in all four directions.
