Shiny/Platinum is a metal added by both Thermal Expansion, call Shiny, and GregTech, called Platinum. When both mods are present, Shiny is replaced with Platinum. In both mods it is used in some high tier machines

Shiny/Platinum Ingot are acquirable as byproduct from Pulverizeing Ferrous Ore and Iridium Ore, or from Sheldonite Ore. It can also be made in a Fusion Reactor. Shiny can occasionally be found in Dungeon chests, this is however not overwritten by GregTech, making Shiny metal still acquirable when both mods are installed.

Bugs

When both Thermal Expansion and GregTech are installed, Shiny Metal still spawns in dungeon chests, while it should be overwritten by Platinum Ingot.

-Shiny metal (Platinum) is found either in dungeon chests or by [[Pulverizer|pulverizing]] ferrous ore. Each [[Ferrous]] ore has a 10% chance of producing shiny dust when pulverized. With GregTech installed shiny metal and platinum are interchangeable. Shiny Ingots are used in some of the highest tier [[Thermal Expansion]] machines. Shiny Dust can be used to save [[Tesseract]] settings by right clicking a tesseract with shiny dust. Once this is done you can move the tesseract and it will remember its settings when you place it back down.
