Sometimes dumping a bucket of lava in my home is not exactly convenient. No matter, my new nether crucible, fueled by the infernal power of the nether, has no need for external heat.

The Nether Crucible is a block from Flaxbeard's Steam Power. It is used to melt ingots, nuggets, and plates. Ores cannot be melted in the Nether Crucible. Throwing in the valid items will cause them to melt. The metal can then be poured into an adjacent Mold block, if it contains a valid mold item. Unlike the Crucible, it does not require an external heat source. Like the Crucible, the metal can be poured by using an empty hand or a redstone signal/pulse. Also like the Crucible, when it has fluid metal in it, will be able to output a redstone signal to a Comparator, with a strength that varies based on how much fluid is in it.

The Nether Crucible and Crucible can hold up to 90 nuggets (10 ingots or 15 plates) worth of liquids at a time.

Trivia[]

  • The journal entry seems to imply that that Nether Brick has either great thermal insulation or great thermal efficiency.
