NEI（全名Not Enough Items）是TooManyItems（TMI）和Recipe Book两个模组的精神继承者，由ChickenBones制作。NEI在原版玩家物品栏界面的基础上，在其右侧增加了一个物品列表，并在下方增加了搜索物品用的文本框。NEI几乎是每个整合的必备模组，因为：不论是搜索物品的合成还是用途，不论是在打开箱子还是别的GUI时，NEI都是相当实用的工具。目前现有的NEI的扩展mod有WAILA、NEI Addons以及NEI Plugins。
Using NEI
Clicking the box at the bottom of the screen in an inventory (any inventory) allows for the searching of items. Hovering over an item and clicking "R" (for Recipe) will display that item's recipe. Clicking "U" (for Use) shows what that item is used to create. Clicking the search box twice allows search for an item in a Chest or other inventory; the items that match will have a golden outline, and other items will have a gray outline. Double-clicking the box will turn off the search mode.
Tools
Dumps
In the left-bottom corner of the inventory is an Options button. Clicking it, and then clicking Tools, and then Data Dumps will give a GUI that allows dumping of Item, Block, Potion, Enchantment and Biome IDs, as well as Item/Block textures. This will dump them into the minecraft folder, under the folder "dumps".
