The Mortar is an item added by Roots 2. It is used with a Pestle to create Petal Dust, which is used in spells. The Mortar is placed on a surface and ingredients are added by right clicking. The ingredients for each spell are given in the Book of Spellcraft. The Pestle is then used to produce the Petal Dust, again by right clicking on the Mortar. The order of ingredients and Pestle is not important. A transformation will take place and the Petal Dust will fly out of the Mortar for collection.
