The Soil in the Misty World is an integral part of the general ecosystem and differs from the vanilla game in a much greater variety and specific behavior. Blocks of soil are wet blocks, so they change their state depending on humidity. In addition, the soil varies in composition and percentage of humus.
In different climatic zones, various types of soils prevail. There are five of them, according to the number of zones: forest, sandy, clay, rocky and tropical. In addition, in the compost heap you can get another type of soil - humus.
The composition of soils affects their porosity, which in turn also affects plant growth.
|Forest soil||II||It is the main type. It has a balanced composition.|
|Sandy soil||III||It has a high sand content.|
|Clay soil||I||The composition is dominated by clay.|
|Rocky soil||III||The composition is dominated by gravel.|
|Tropical soil||II||The composition is dominated by red sand or red clay.|
|Humus||II||It is pure humus. It is a component for obtaining other types of soil.|
In addition to the above features, each soil type may contain a different amount of humus. This affects its fertility, namely, how much nutrient the soil can give to the plant. According to the humus content, the soil can be divided into:
- depleted (2% humus) - the percentage cannot go lower
- with a low humus content (4%) - basically this percentage can be found in the second layer of soil from top
- with an average humus content (6%) - as a rule, this is the soil of the upper layers
- highly fertile (8%) - is rare and is usually a sign of rotting of tree roots
- humus (10% humus) is a pure humus, with which you can increase the fertility of other types of soil
Leaching of Humus
An unpleasant aspect such as leaching of humus is associated with soil porosity. If there is a block of water near the soil block, the percentage of humus will gradually decrease depending on the porosity of this type of soil and the distance to the liquid. And if in most cases the soil moisture is preserved even without the presence of water due to the air humidity of a particular climatic zone, then in the desert and savanna this effect can cause great difficulties.
The most resistant to leaching is clay soil, the humus percentage of which does not fall below 6% even when in contact with water, while porous sandy soil can turn into completely unsuitable for agriculture.
