The Item Broadcaster Chip is an item added by Project Red and functions as transmitter for items out of connected chests through a request from an other pipe or chip (see Usage).

Usage[]

Project Red example of an autocrafting system

Example of an automatic crafting system with the pipes and cards from Project Red, with integrated request system. (Explanation in the text)

The Item Broadcaster Chip allows the Routed Interface pipe and the Routed Crafting pipe to transmit items out of connected chests, through a request from an other pipe (for example the Routed Request pipe) or chip.

The chip can be placed into the Routed Interface pipe and the Routed Crafting pipe by right-clicking on the pipe with the chip in the hand or about the interface of the respective pipe.

The picture on the right shows a complex request and crafting system build up with Project Red pipes and cards. In this example Item Broadcaster Chips are in area 3 integrated in the Routed Interface pipes, which are connected to the chest. In area 1 is a Routed Request pipe, which can be used with a right-click to open the GUI. In this GUI are all items displayed which are in the chests in area 3 and if the player request an item, the Item Broadcaster Chips send the item from the chest to the Routed Request Pipe, respectively in the connected chest.

The Item Broadcaster Chip can be upgraded via the Router Utility (see section Upgrades), but is not necessary for the first time.

Before the chip can be installed or upgraded to a pipe, it must be configured. This configuration is done by right-clicking with the chip in his hand. It can be configured three setting on the chip, the Priority, the Filter Function and the Extract Orientation.

Priority[]

The priority (preference value) can be set in the standard version from -2 to 2, and indicates which chip (and the chest behind) preferred receiving the items. The chip with the highest number in the pipe network receives the objects till e.g. the box is full. Then a box with the next lowest number is tried. Have 2 or more chips the same value, a chip is randomly selected and permanently accessed until the box behind the chip is full.

Filter function[]

The filter function has 5 different setting options.

  1. The filter can be whitelisted or blacklisted. In the 9 panels on the left 9 item can be specified for the filter. Whitelisted means, that all items are blocked exepted the specified objects. Blacklisted does the opposite, all items are passed exepted the specified objects.
  2. The filter can review the metadata of the passing objects against the specified objects.
  3. The filter can review the NBT of the passing objects against the specified objects.
  4. The filter can review the Ore Dictionary of the passing objects against the specified objects.
  5. Damage groups

Extract Orientation[]

If the Routed Interface pipe or the Routed Crafting pipe with this chip are connected with more than one chest, then the extraction orientation is defined as which chest the items are removed from. The options are "up (u)", "down (d)", "north (n)", "east (e)", "south (s)", "west (w)" and "default". In "default" takes the chip at all the chests next to the pipe.

Upgrades[]

The Item Broadcaster Chip has an L-Slot and an S-Slot that can be upgraded with the Router Utility and the respective upgrades.

L-Slot[]

The L-slot specifies how many stacks the chip can check in one operation and is calculated with Stacks = 1 + Latency.

The latency can be raises with the LX Upgrade by 1, the LY Upgrade by 2 and the LZ Upgrade by 4. To upgrade the chip with an LY, respectively an LZ, Upgrade you also need at the same installation process an LX, respectively an LX and an LY, upgrade.

R-Slot[]

The R-slot specifies the package size of each extraction process and is calculated with Items = 8 + Latency.

The latency can be raises with the RX Upgrade by 8, the RY Upgrade by 16 and the RZ Upgrade by 32. To upgrade the chip with an RY, respectively an RZ Upgrade, you also need at the same installation process an RX, respectively an RX and an RY, upgrade.
