The Iron Drill Head is a component added by Immersive Engineering. It is used in a Mining Drill.
When installed, the Iron Drill Head mines a 2x2 area. The area of the block the player points at with the Mining Drill determines what other blocks are destroyed- when the cursor is pointed at the top-right corner, the 2x2 area contains that block, with the block above and right of it (and the block diagonal of it). When a player's cursor is pointed at the bottom-left corner of a block, the 2x2 mining area contains that block with the block under and left of it (and the block diagonal of it). Simply, the cursor points closest to the center area of the 2x2 mining area.
Shifting while breaking a block with break only one block instead of four. The Iron Drill Head can be repaired in an Anvil.
