The Greatwood Sapling is a sapling added by Thaumcraft 5, which grows into a Greatwood Tree. The Greatwood Tree is harvested to gain Greatwood Logs (and possibly Greatwood Leaves). They can be found naturally in Forests.
Every 1/8 Greatwood Trees spawned naturally in the world is haunted by spiders; the Greatwood Tree will be covered with Cobwebs, and a Cave Spider Monster Spawner will be underneath one of the bottom Greatwood Logs. However, under that Spawner is a random Dungeon Chest.
