The Gourmaryllis is a generating flower added by Botania. It generates Mana from food.
The Gourmaryllis generates Mana by consuming food items (that do not leave behind containers or byproducts) in a 3×3×3 area around it.
Food items which restore 13 or more hunger will have their value reduced down to 12 hunger.
Food items' saturation values are ignored.
While a Gourmaryllis is digesting a piece of food, it will still pick up additional food items. However, all items after the first will be ignored and destroyed.
The Gourmaryllis can store up to 9,000 Mana internally, and can be bound to a Mana Spreader within 6 blocks of itself to transfer its Mana.
Mana generation before 1.16[]
The Mana it generates is , where repeats is the number of times the food item was fed to the Gourmarylis in a row.
The time required to consume a piece of food is , where is the time in seconds. Mana is produced in a single burst at the end of this time (indicating that the Gourmaryllis can eat a new food item). For example, Steak (which restores 8 hunger) will produce Mana after seconds, while the third Steak fed to the flower in a row will produce 1/3 of that value.
Mana generation in 1.16+[]
The Gourmaryllis generation has been boosted so that the base rate is always , but a streak multiplier is applied based on the number of unique foods: 0, 1, 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.75 and 1.8 as the number increases. In words, this means feeding the same food in a row will not generate any mana, feeding two different foods will give the base mana value for both foods every time, and feeding e.g. four different foods will result in a constant 50% boost in generation up to a maximum boost of 80% at 8 foods.
