The Golden Lasso is an item added by Extra Utilities. When right-clicking a passive mob, the lasso will store the mob in itself (removing the mob from in-world), and it will show the name of the mob in its lore. Right-clicking the lasso again will release the stored mob back into the world. While the lasso has a mob stored, renaming it in an Anvil will change the name of the mob, making it a great alternative to Name Tags.
