I have found a way to combine the sturdy composition of iron with the magical capabilities of gold: gilding. I can coat iron ingots and tools with gold to combine their abilities. Simply right clicking on a crucible containing gold with an iron ingot will use up one nugget's worth of gold, leaving me with the ingots that encompass the strength of iron and enchantability of gold.

Gilded Iron is a metal originating from Flaxbeard's Steam Power, representing Iron that has been dipped in Gold. Gilded Iron is used in the creation of Gilded Iron tools and armor, which have the durability and armor/damage points of iron, but the enchantability of gold.
Gilded Iron can be created in the Crucible or Nether Crucible by dunking 1 Iron ingot or FSP plate into 1 nugget worth of Gold. Using an iron ingot will produce a gilded ingot, and using an iron plate will produce a gilded plate.
Gilded Iron can be created in a heated Crucible by dipping 1 IronIngot or Thin Plate into 1 Nugget of Gold. An Iron Ingot will produce a Gilded Iron Ingot, and likewise a Thin Plate will produce a Thin Gilded Iron Plate.
