GeoStrata is a mod by Reika that adds a bunch of worldgen stone types such as Granite, Pumice and Hornfel. In the 1.6 version it also added worldgen crystals which grant the player several potion effects and crystals could be used to brew potions with better potion effects. In 1.7 this feature was merged into ChromatiCraft.
