The Flux Capacitor is a type of item added by Thermal Expansion 5. They are used to store and provide Redstone Flux (RF) for other items and equipment carried by the player.
Recipe
Usage
The Flux Capacitor can be charged in an Energetic Infuser. From there, it can either be placed in a machine's power input slot to charge its internal battery, or used to charge other items in the players inventory. Using the Flux Capacitor while sneaking will toggle its ability to charge other items. The Flux capacitor has three charging modes that can be switched between using the "Cycle Item Mode" key (V by default):
- Charging Equipment: Charges items worn by the player.
- Charging Inventory: Charges items in the player's inventory.
- Charging All Items: Charges both worn items and items in inventory.
The Flux Capacitor can be dyed by crafting it with a dye. Dyed capacitors can be crafted back into the original color.
Tiers
The Flux Capacitor comes in 5 tiers, including an extra Creative tier which is not craftable or obtainable through normal gameplay. Higher tiers have increased storage capacity and a higher maximum charge and discharge rate. The Creative tier can provide an unlimited amount of RF.
Tier | Capacity (RF) | Input Rate (RF/tick) | Output Rate (RF/tick) |
---|---|---|---|
Basic | 1,000,000 | 2,000 | 1,000 |
Hardened | 4,000,000 | 8,000 | 4,000 |
Reinforced | 9,000,000 | 18,000 | 9,000 |
Signalum | 16,000,000 | 32,000 | 16,000 |
Resnonant | 25,000,000 | 50,000 | 25,000 |
Creative | Infinite | N/A | 250,000 |
The RF capacity can be increased further using the Holding enchantment. Each level of Holding increases the Flux Capacitor's maximum RF storage by 50%. The maximum possible storage capacity can be achieved using a Resonant capacitor enchanted with Holding IV, with a maximum capacity of 75,000,000 RF.
