The Filtered Buffer is a machine added by BuildCraft. It can stock and count items supplied by pipes and relay the information to a Gate.
Recipe[]
Example / How to use it[]
An example has been provided below to demonstrate the Filtered Buffer's use.
First, pipes need to be connected to the Filtered Buffer. Golden Transport Pipes will be used for the input and Quartz Transport Pipes for the output. Each Golden Transport Pipe will pull a different type of item. For this example Grass, Diamonds, Gears and Eggs will be used.
Add Gates on each input pipe.
Right-click on the Filtered Buffer to open its GUI. It should look like this:
Add items provided by the input pipes to the upper row. It will leave a ghost item in that slot.
The lower slots that correspond to the items added to the block should now be available. The player can add stacks of the corresponding item if they want:
Then it's pretty much done!
The Gate's behaviors can be configured by right-clicking on it:
The Gate should now have the same behaviors as a container. The player can use that to count items and request more items from the input pipes. For that Pipe Wire will be used:
Put a different Pipe Wire color on each Pipe to keep them separate then place a Chest at the end of each input pipe. Both will be connected to one another by a Wooden Transport Pipe with an Autarchic Gate on it:
Configure these behaviors into the Gate's GUI:
Do not forget to edit the Signal Color in the other Gates.
When every chest is connected to its input pipe, the behavior of the Gates placed next to the Filtered Buffer can be altered. Put an item in the Gate where the Red Pipe Wire is connected to:
Put an item in the Gate where the Blue Pipe Wire is connected to:
Put an item in the Gate where the Green Pipe Wire is connected to:
Put an item in the Gate where the Yellow Pipe Wire is connected to:
Everything is now set up. Fill the chests with the corresponding items and the Filtered Buffer will be fully operational.
