Wikidata is a freely licensed, freely editable database for categorizing everything. This page discusses ways Feed the Beast Wiki editors use Wikidata here.
- Wikidata and the FTB Wiki have a license incompatibility: Wikidata is licensed under the CC0, but the FTB Wiki is licensed under the CC BY-NC-SA. You can freely pull from Wikidata to here, but you cannot push to Wikidata from the FTB Wiki (unless it's your own work, or you have permission).
- However, fair use does apply: You can yank identifiers and such from the wiki and that will be perfectly legal.
- Wikidata has its own notability policy. Not all mods are notable enough for Wikidata, and most items are almost certainly not notable enough.
- Wikidata items can be added to FTB Wiki pages:
- On Wikidata, add Property 6262 (Fandom article ID) with a value of
ftb:Name_of_mod_page
. Replace spaces with underscores. - On the Feed The Beast Wiki, add the
wikidata
property with the Q-number (ID) to Infobox mod or other supported infoboxes.
- On Wikidata, add Property 6262 (Fandom article ID) with a value of
- Using SPARQL, you can query for Minecraft mods and Minecraft modpacks that are present on Wikidata.
