- Bee mutation chances source #44
“
”
I've shied away a bit from the work of adding all the chances in. Having to update all 184 bees...
It will come, but not tomorrow
I'm not sure about how to present that information, especially for the special cases, where the moon phase changes the chance (looking at you, Thaumic Bees). Also (Thaumic Bees again) how to present it for the mutates-to section of the Stark Bee, where the infusion altar is used for most of them (so no chance-column needed), with the Vis Bee being bred normally (so a chance-column is needed). Anyone with a good idea? Optimal would be a quick mock-up how it could look.“
”
I could code a bot for this if MilConDoin puts in a temporary place for the changes, and that someone provides a text file with the mutation chances in the following format:
<string Parent 1>,<string Parent 2>,<string Result>,<int Chance>[,<string Note>]
Example
Resilient,Noble,Impregnable,10
Hive,Other Hive,Common,50
Modest,Cultivated,Sinister,30,Can only mutate in the Nether.

- World generation information source #6 #15 #19 #63

“

Shouldn't be too difficult to include on mod pack pages... just note that some ores are configurable so YMMV on some SMP servers.
- The ability to edit the wiki. source #29
“
”
We tried that. It went horribly. Just looking at the misinformation on the unofficial wikis lets you know that the community frequently provides inaccurate information. This is intended to be a very accurate very technical wiki. It is actually more time consuming to go through and re-read/ edit out inaccuracies then it is to just create accurate articles in the first place. Anyone can edit, all they have to do is make a mock up article that isn't already written and isnt a copy from somewhere else and submit it. I am always looking for good writers. I just insist on the info being as accurate as possible, and that the articles not read like a novel.

I thinks its not so much we're saving GT for last as the mod is so in depth and changes some fundamental things that it's easier to finish the other parts first.

Issues[]
- Wiki team and translation application process too slow. source #36
- Not done.
“
”
The problem is the way the wiki was setup originally a lot of the changes have to be done on the backend server side. Which makes even a small formatting change a nightmare. And applications were stopped because with PAX coming up I do not have the time to review applications. After PAX some changes will be made. Frankly if you dislike the way I run the wiki you can either A.) make suggestions in a non-aggressive manner , this means giving examples and showing how it could be done, just saying "lacks formatting" says nothing of any use. or B.) you can go make your own unofficial wiki and do it your way. But frankly if you don't have helpful constructive advice its useless to me.

As useful as that may be to some of the community, that's way outside the scope of the wiki here currently. You could always try asking some of the modders on MCForum if they have any resources/pointers for you.
- Make placeholders for ALL the parts of a mod.

We use them with the intent of filling in information later... usually . I think we're supposed to actually avoid using them so as to avoid cluttering the wiki with unused stubs/blank pages.

That won't be needed, at least not for the default setups. We are planing to add a list/table whatever to the wiki where you can find all the Block and Item IDs FTB packs take so you know exactly what free and what not.

I like this idea, but for the basic programming for those that have never code dived, written a basic batch file, or even used command line. I would send them to youtube to watch the ComputerCraft - From noob to pro series. Granted it's from six months ago, but this guy starts off with the basic of the basic's just as you described for the "hello world" tutorial.
“
”
I think it might just be me, but I don't always want a video tutorial. I might get a chance to look some stuff up and read about it at a time that watching a video is impractical. Also some videos are hard to follow/have irritating music/incomprehensible speech, so a nice written guide is so useful.
A recent example is I was looking for info on the settings in rp2 managers, ended up having to watch dw20's mod spotlight a couple of times (to which none of the above irritating things apply generally), when a few words/diagrams would have been faster (for me).
“
”
That is completely understandable. Different people have different ways of learning. I for one happen to be a kinetic learner so I have to be able to see it done, and see the result before grasping the concept. Or see it done then do it myself, and then see the out come. That's why I liked t3hero's idea, but also expanding on making it more user friendly for those that need to learn kinetically.
All in all a more detailed computer craft wiki would be fantastic.

- "Item Stacks per Tick (for removing items from inventories)"
- "Ore Processing (ore to dust to ingots, etc)"

- Bees best for (x) attribute? (e.g. Relic bees for longest lifespan, or for slowest speed... Rocky bees have flyer, nocturnal and cave-dwelling, etc...) Condensed into a single article for people wanting to get the "extreme" ends of each attribute as serums. There are already pages such as Fertility and Speed, but it might be good to have the extremes on a separate page.
- I may work on this during the time that the Texvc plugin is offline. Though it should be noted that ChromatiCraft has bees with traits that will far exceed the traits of any other bees. For example, there's a trait for speed called Accelerated that makes them operate at several orders of magnitude faster speed than the previous tier (Accelerated is 400%, Amped is 200%, Fastest is 170% with Fastest being the last trait added by default Forestry. I'm unsure which mod adds the Amped speed trait. LC14199 - Curator of Reika's Mods (talk) 01:28, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- After doing some research, there are already a few spreadsheets and whatnot that go through the entire bee tree. Pursuing this is not worth the time it would take to assemble such a page. LC14199 - Curator of Reika's Mods (talk) 09:00, 2 December 2017 (UTC)
