More than four years ago, I started working on a Blocking policy that was not complete. Just today, there has been a post on FANDOM's new blocking policies. The key takeaway from their announcement is that they don't want admins blocking people for stupid reasons. While this has not been much of a problem here, most bans are reasonable and there haven't really been any controversial bans since the pre-Gamepedia times, it also states that "Rules for your wikis must be defined and easily found. These rules must not violate Fandom’s Terms of Use or be overly restrictive." I see this request of something of a liability kind of thing for FANDOM in that I don't expect to them to clamp down on wikis that haven't done this (like ours), unless problems arise from said wikis. Seems like this is unlikely to be a major issue but it would be good to formalize our blocking policy regardless. Feel free to suggest any direction you think this policy should take, or just contribute to it directly since it's in a draft state right now. This wiki has lots of references to topics on Minecraft Forum. In order to keep things accurate and safe, I suggest the following:

* Replace all HTTP links with HTTPS (essentially batch replace string
http://www.minecraftforum.net/
with
https://www.minecraftforum.net/
on all articles)

* Since Minecraft Forum will soon become read-only, how about appending the word "archived" to links that refer to it?

--Robotkoer (talk) 07:17, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

*Regarding your second point, I figured it would be wise to tell everyone that it isn’t going into Read Only. Regarding your first point, this may or may not be needed as HTTP is usually converted to HTTPS in modern browsers. I'm sure many of you know who SuntannedDuck2 is. Duck has made many excellent edits, including initializing the LightningCraft page as well as others.

While I admit that our Tanned Duck could use some work on editing skill, I hereby nominate SuntannedDuck2 for editor! Let the voting begin! *Neutral I feel that SuntannedDuck2 might benefit from not being editor for a little while longer and focusing on high-quality edits with better grammatical writing and/or double-checking flow of sentences before publishing an edit. -- SizableShrimp🦐 (talk · contribs) 04:23, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Blocking policy

-Xbony2 (talk) 05:00, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
