The Fan is a block from the OpenBlocks mod. This block can push entities within about 9 blocks in front of it, and a couple blocks to the sides of the front. These will also push dropped items, as they count as an entity. As of version 1.2.6, the Fan can be controlled by redstone. If there is no redstone signal, it will not push entities, while if there is a redstone signal, it will push them about 8-9 blocks.

The blowing effect cannot be blocked with any blocks. Fans can be put on top of each other to increase the force. Fans are transparent. Fans do not suck, they can be approached from behind without feeling any effect.

Fans are great for creating mob farms. Unlike water, they can push Endermen without problems. A dark room, with lots of Fans embedded in the walls, floor and ceiling to push mobs towards a mob grinder, is a simple and affordable way of getting Ender Pearls in quantity early in the game. Drops can be collected with Vacuum Hopper. If the mob grinder uses Melee Turtles then the Vacuum Hopper can collect XP too.
