Excavators are digging tools added by Thermal Foundation. They act similarly to Shovels except they can dig a 3x3 area at once.

Usage[]
Excavators can dig and harvest the same blocks as shovels can. When a block is broken, any other appropriate blocks in a 3x3 plane around it will be instantly broken as well. This can be useful for digging out large areas at the expense of durability, as each block takes away 1 durability point.
Stats[]
Excavators have exactly the same stats as their shovel counterparts, except they have twice as much durability:

Recovering materials[]
Just like with other tools, it is possible to recover some of the materials used in the crafting process by using Thermal Expansion machines:
Each of those recipes has a 10% chance of producing Slag.
