Dynamic Item Responder Chip

ModProject Red
TypeItem
Required modulesTransportation

The Dynamic Item Responder Chip is an item added by Project Red. It allows the Routed Interface pipe and the Routed Crafting pipe to interact with chests and devices with inventories to put items into them (input only). In contrast to the Item Responder chip, the Dynamic Item Responder Chip does not have a filter function because the chip is not distributed the items to the chests after an internal filter function, but rather the effect which items are included in the respective chest (see Usage).

If the mod MineChem is installed, the Dynamic Item Responder Chip can be decomposed with the Chemical Decomposer into different chemical compounds from the mod.

Usage[]

The Dynamic Item Responder Chip allows the Routed Interface pipe and the Routed Crafting pipe to interact with chests and devices with inventory. The chip is only necessary to transfer items from the pipe system into chests or devices; this does not work in reverse. The chip can be placed into the Routed Interface pipe and the Routed Crafting pipe by right-clicking on the pipe with the Chip in hand or the interface of the respective pipe.

The Dynamic Item Responder Chip does not have a filter function because the chip is not distributed the items to the chests after an internal filter function, in contrast to the Item Responder chip. The Dynamic Item Responder Chip scans the connected chest and stores any item that is present in the chest. The player can change or add the items in the chests and the chip adjusts dynamically the sorting of new items of the same type.

Before the chip can be upgraded or installed into a pipe, it must be configured. This is done by right-clicking with the chip in hand. By holding down the shift key the item additional information about its configuration when viewed in an inventory. The available configuration is the preference value of the chip.

The Dynamic Item Responder Chip can be upgraded via the Router Utility (see section Slots), but is not necessary for the first time.

Preference value[]

The preference value can be set in the standard version from -2 to 2, and indicates which chip (and the connected chest) will be preferred when receiving items. The chip with the highest number in the pipe network receives items until the inventory is full, at which point the inventory with the next lowest number is tried. If 2 or more chips have the same value a chip is randomly selected and permanently accessed until the chip-connected inventory becomes full.

Upgrades[]

The Dynamic Item Responder Chip has an L-Slot that can be upgraded with the Router Utility and the respective upgrades.

L-Slot[]

The L-Slot raises the maximum preference value which can be configured. The maximum value is calculated from Value = 2 + Latency. The latency can be increased with up to 3 LX Upgrades, 5 LY Upgrades, and 54 LZ Upgrades. An LZ Upgrade can be applied when LX and LY upgrades are being installed simultaneously.

R-Slot[]

No function.
