The Dimensional Shard is a crafting component added by RFTools. It is used in the crafting of advanced RFTools items and machines, and is used in the Machine Infusion process.
If RFTools Dimensions is loaded, Dimensional Shards can only be found below level 40 in RFTools dimensions. Otherwise, Dimensional Shard Ore will spawn in the Nether and the End, albeit rarely.
