Diamond Gates

ModBuildCraft
TypeItem

The Diamond Gates are items added by BuildCraft to control and/or interact with all pipes of BuildCraft via eight configurable functions (see Usage). The gate has an AND and OR version plus a Clock Timer, Redstone Fader, Light Sensor and Autarchic design.

Recipe[]

The player can choose the desired mode (AND or OR) if he has placed all needed resources in the Assembly Table, and the choosen one is produced.

Liquid Assembly Table Power
GUI tank 8 140
800,000 RF

Usage[]

BuildCraft Gates and Pipe Wire and Structure Pipe

A Diamond AND Gate interacts with all four types of Pipe Wire to transmit redstone signals. Pipe Wires on different pipe types can be connected via Cobblestone Structure Pipe.

The Diamond Gate can be placed on all types and sides of the BuildCraft pipes with a right-click. By holding the crouch-key and right-clicking the gate can be removed without to destroy the pipe.

Note: The basic function is that the gate checks the precondition in the right slot, and, if this precondition is true, executes the option in the left slot. The difference between the AND and the OR version is when it will trigger an action. Both will trigger if one precondition is true, but if the AND version is used, and two or more conditions are set to trigger the same action, the action will only trigger when both preconditions are True. If the OR version is used and two or more preconditions are set to the same action, the action will trigger when either of the preconditions is True.

With a right-click the player can open the GUI, which has eight rows, each having three slots, to configure functions. All slots can be configurated by clicking in the slot. The possible options depends on the pipe where the gate was mounted:

  • All options like the standard Gate (goto)
  • Additional options from the Diamond Gates to interact with pipes and storage (see below)
  • Furthermore the Diamond Gate has the ability to interact with all types Pipe Wires to transmit and/or receive redstone signals over the BuildCraft own wire system. An example with a Diamond AND Gate is shown in the picture. In the GUI the corresponding option is selectable if a pipe wire is connected to the gate (see section Additional options for pipe wire interaction)

Additional options for all pipe types[]

Following options are additional available for pipes (kinesis, fluid, transport):

BuildCraft Diamond Gate GUI
Left slot (1. precondition; 2. special option) Right slot
Icon Text Icon Text Explanation Icon Text Explanation
Kinesis, Fluid, Transport Pipes
Redstone Signal On
Set True if a redstone signal receives the gate

Gate Side Only Set True if a redstone signal receives directly the side with the gate

Redstone Signal Off
Set True if no redstone signal receives the gate

Gate Side Only Set True if no redstone signal receives directly the side with the gate
Transport Pipe
Items Traversing empty Set True if the transport pipe transmits any item

for example Stone Set True if the transport pipe transmits Stone (item can be placed by drag and drop)

Additional options for extraction pipes and connected storage[]

Following options are additional available for all extraction pipes and pipe they are connected to a storage. Note: In the second slot can be placed an item to specify the function.

Transport Pipe
Inventory Has Space Set True if the inventory is full (independet of the item)

for example
Stone
Set True if the connected inventory is full with Stone

Inventory Has Space Set True if a redstone signal receives the gate about a red pipe wire

for example
Stone
Set True if a redstone signal receives the gate about a red pipe wire and the second option is True

Inventory Contains <25%
Set True if the connected inventory has lesser than 25% of the item in the second slot

Inventory Contains <50%
Set True if the connected inventory has lesser than 50% of the item in the second slot

Inventory Contains <75%
Set True if the connected inventory has lesser than 75% of the item in the second slot
Wooden Fluid Pipe and pipes connected to tanks
Contains < 25% Set True if the connected tank contains lesser than 25% of any fluid

for example
Water Bucket
Set True if the connected tank contains lesser than 25% Water

Contains < 50% Set True if the connected tank contains lesser than 50% of any fluid

for example
Water Bucket
Set True if the connected tank contains lesser than 50% Water

Contains < 75% Set True if the connected tank contains lesser than 75% of any fluid

for example
Water Bucket
Set True if the connected tank contains lesser than 75% Water

Fluid in Tank Set True if the connected tanks contains any fluid

for example
Water Bucket
Set True if the connected tank contains Water

Space for Fluid Set True if the connected tanks has space for any other fluid

for example
Water Bucket
Set True if the connected tank has space to gather Water

Fluid Traversing Set True if the pipe transmits any fluid

for example
Water Bucket
Set True if the pipe transmits Water
