The Charging Station is a block added by Immersive Engineering. It is is used to charge Redstone Flux (RF), and until version 0.8, Energy Units (EU), containers and tools.
Energy (RF only) can be input through the bottom and back side of the block. Right-clicking the Charging Station with an energy container in hand will put the container inside the Charging Station, and right-clicking it again will remove that container. While inside, the Charging Station will transfer it's energy to the stored item, at a rate of 4000 RF/t. EU-using tools and batteries can be charged at a conversion rate of 4 RF to 1 EU (making the charging rate 1000 EU/t).
The Charging Station has Redstone Comparator support. When the item in the Charging Station is at least 1/15 full, the Redstone Comparator will output a Redstone strength of 1. When it is at least 2/15 full, a Redstone strength of 2, 3/15 fully, a strength of 3, and so on.
