The Cell Workbench is a block added by Applied Energistics 2. It is used to partition ME Storage Cells. It is independent from the ME Network and does not require power to function. Right-clicking on it will open its GUI.

The GUI can be accessed by right-clicking on the Workbench. ME Storage Cells are placed in the top-right corner and dragging items to the top half (the partition area) of the GUI will place down a ghost item in the slot; no items are transferred from the player's inventory to the partition space. There are three buttons on the top-left corner. They are, in descending order:
Clear: Clears the partition area of all ghost items.
Partition Storage: Formats a cell to partition all current items in the partition area.
Copy Mode: Determines whether the partition area is cleared or not after an ME Storage Cell is removed. One floppy disk icon means the area will be cleared on Storage Cell removal; a two floppy disk icon means it will not.
