The Caster's Gauntlet is an item added by Thaumcraft 6. It is analogous to wands from previous versions.
Usage
The Gauntlet's main use is casting spells stored on casting foci by the Focal Manipulator.
- To equip a casting focus, hold the Change Caster Focus button (defaults to
F), mouse over the focus you want to equip, and release the button. - To unequip a focus, press the Change Caster Focus button while sneaking.
- To cast with the focus, use the Gauntlet.
- Some focus mediums, like the Plan medium, have additional settings that can be changed between uses. To change those, the Misc Caster Toggle key (defaults to
G) is used.
The Gauntlet can be also used on a Runic Matrix to start infusions, and on various essentia tubing to toggle connections and settings.

I have managed to put together a basic casting gauntlet and I am quite pleased with the result. It is still a bit rough, but that is to be expected from a prototype. Even as a prototype it will prove useful, allowing me to make delicate adjustments or alteration to thaumaturgical devices and safely manipulate them in all manner of ways.
My initial experiments have shown that it is only able to draw vis from a relatively small area around me. I should be careful not to deplete the aura.
My main stumbling block now is that in its current state it is little more than a magical wrench. Until I crack the secret of crafting foci its utility will be limited. The path before me is clear...
