The Cache is a tile entity added by Thermal Expansion 5. It is used to store a large amount of items. The storage can be increased with the Holding enchantment and upgrade kits. The base amount stored for each of the upgrade tiers is:
Basic: 20,000
Hardened: 80,000
Reinforced: 180,000
Signalum: 320,000
Resonant: 500,000
This amount can be increased further with Holding, which increases the storage capacity multiplicatively. Holding I increases the storage x1.5, Holding II x2, Holding III x2.5 and Holding IV x3. Therefore the maximum storage capacity possible is 1,500,000 for a Resonant Cache with Holding IV.
It can be used to automate a mob farm or a quarry or just store items. It is similar to the Better Barrel added by JABBA.
