Bus Randomizer

ModProject Red
TypeSolid block
Required modulesIntegration

The Bus Randomizer is a redstone circuit added by Project Red. It is a logic gate for complex redstone circuits and transmits randomized redstone signals in Bundled Cables and Colored Bundled Cables when activated (see Usage).

Project Red Bus Randomizer Functions

Picture 2: An example to explain all functions of the Bus Randomizer (see the text).

The Bus Randomizer has two input side for vanilla redstone, Red Alloy Wire and Insulated Wires, one pseudo-input side and and one output sides for Bundled Cables and Colored Bundled Cables. The output side for the Bundled Cable is displayed with a small grey mark on one side of the gate.

The Bus Randomizer has a single mode and a multi mode (shown in picture 1), which can be changed by holding the sneak key and right-clicking with the screwdriver.

  • In the single mode the Bus Randomizer transmits a redstone pulse on only one channel within the Bundled Cable and changes the channel every tick (1 second = 20 ticks).
  • In the multi mode the Bus Randomizer transmits a redstone pulse on more channels and changes every combination every tick.

If a redstone signal receives one or both inputs on the right and/or left side, the the Bus Randomizer is activated. If both redstone signals are terminated, it stops and holds the current combination (shown in picture 2).

About the pseudo-input side the player can enable specific channels which are to be run through by the Bus Randomizer. An example is shown in picture 2:

The first 8 channels (white till grey) are activated with Redstone Torches on the pseudo-input side on the left. If the Bus Randomizer is now activated, it changes only the combination in the enabled channels (shown on the right).

Using the screwdriver from Project Red, the orientation of the gate can be changed freely in all four directions.
