The Block Update Detector is a block added by Extra Utilities. It works like an Observer, sending a redstone pulse when a block next to it updates. It can be used to craft a Block Update Detector (Advanced).

This block replicates a standard vanilla BUD in one block. If an adjacent block is updated the BUD will send out a one tick redstone pulse and then go inactive for three ticks to allow the redstone time to calm down. Adjacent BUDs will not trigger each other.
