Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, or just Minecraft, is the edition of Minecraft that is available on a variety of platforms, as opposed to Java Edition. This was also formerly called Minecraft: Pocket Edition.
Mod support[]
- See also: mcw:Addons
All platforms of Bedrock Edition supports internal modifications called "addons", wherein a resource pack or behavior pack or both is used to add and/or modify content to the game.
In addition to addons, other modifications exist but it depends on the platform.
Windows[]
On Windows, Bedrock Edition can be modded by using third-party clients. These clients often inject DLLs to the base game to provide a modded experience. Popular clients include Horion and Zephyr.
Android[]
Currently, the only way to mod the Android version is to use third-party clients. Popular clients inclue Toolbox. Previously, in old versions of Bedrock Edition on Android (formerly Pocket Edition), JavaScript scripts called ModPE were used to modify the game. Popular ModPE loaders were BlockLauncher and MCPE Master.
Minecraft worlds can also be modified outside of the game using inventory editors. Popular editors include Blocktopograph and previously PocketInvEditor.
iOS[]
Currently, there is no method of modding the iOS version. Previously, just like the Android version, ModPE scripts were used to modify the game using BlockLauncher.
Inventory editors also existed, although the device must be jailbroken. These include MCPedit.
Minecraft Education[]
- "Education Edition" redirects here.
- Main article: mcw:Minecraft Education
Minecraft Education, formerly Education Edition, is a fork of Bedrock Edition for classroom use. Items that are used in this edition are also accessible in the base Bedrock Edition, albeit with a toggle on world creation.
Content on Feed The Beast Wiki[]
Due to Java Edition being the edition of the game with overwhelmingly more mod support than Bedrock Edition, the Feed The Beast Wiki is primarily focused on Java Edition mods. Bedrock Edition content, while still allowed, are clearly marked using the notice below to differentiate them.
This page pertains to a Bedrock Edition mod.
