The Battery Box is a tile entity added by GregTech 6. It is used to house battery items which store Energy Units, or EU.

Usage[]
Electricity (EU) is accepted through the five sides with the gauge texture. The Battery Box fails noisily if it receives a packet of energy larger than the maximum voltage for its tier. It fails silently if the total energy received is sixteen times the maximum voltage per contained battery (see table). A Battery Box splits incoming packets semi-evenly among the contained EU-storage items, which then each charge if the voltage is in the correct range for them.
Tier | min voltage | max voltage | max total charge rate (with four batteries) |
output voltage |
---|---|---|---|---|
ULV | 4 | 16 | 1024 | 8 |
LV | 16 | 64 | 4096 | 32 |
MV | 64 | 256 | 16384 | 128 |
HV | 256 | 1024 | 65536 | 512 |
EV | 1024 | 4096 | 262144 | 2048 |
IV | 4096 | 16384 | 1048576 | 8192 |
LuV | 16384 | 65536 | 4194304 | 32768 |
The Battery Box emits EU at the exactly specified voltage, with one amp-packet from each contained battery per tick, from the front face with the knot connector texture.
The current output from the Battery Box can be controlled by the Manual andRedstone Selector covers or by placing a Selector Tag in its GUI. The default output amperage is the number of batteries in the battery box.
Battery Boxes can be rotated with a Wrench, showing the helper grid, to any orientation.
