The Basic Purifying Factory is a machine added by Mekanism. It is used in the Mekanism ore processing system (see below). It is an improved version of the Purification Chamber: it is able to perform 3 simultaneous operations and has a larger internal gas and energy storage. It is also used to craft the Advanced Purifying Factory.
The Basic Purifying Factory requires energy to operate, which can be supplied by placing a generator or energy storage next to it, or via cables. In addition to content from its own mod, generators, energy storage cells, and cables of all supported power systems (IndustrialCraft 2, Thermal Dynamics, BuildCraft and Tesla) can be used to supply power to it.
The Basic Purifying Factory also requires oxygen or Flint as an input material. The basic consumption is 16 Flint respectively or approximately 180 mB oxygen per processed unit. If the Speed Upgrade is installed, the consumption of Flint, oxygen, and energy rises. With the Gas Upgrade the Flint and oxygen consumption is reduced. Installing the Energy Upgrade increases internal energy storage while decreasing energy consumption. The following tables show some consumption and storage values for one processed unit.

GUI and Usage[]
Right-clicking on the block opens the GUI.
The red slot is for the material to be processed and the product appears in the blue slot.
The green slot and the fill level indicator on the right side represent external energy sources and the current amount of power in the buffer. Inside the green slot the player can place e.g., a loaded Basic Energy Cube to power the machine, if no external power supply is connected.
The purple slot is for the secondary input item (Flint).
The upper-left button (called "Side Config") opens the configuration of the cube, where the player can set which side should receive energy as well as receive or emits items. If a side is disabled no cable will connect on that side. If the player holds the Configurator in their hand, the Factory displays a color on the side the player is looking at: Grey means "Off", green means "Input energy", red means "Input item," and blue means "Output item". Shift right-clicking changes the configuration of the side currently looked at.
The second button on the left (called "Transporter Config") opens a GUI which allows the player to define specific rules for routing items if mechanical pipes are connected.
The third button on the left (called "Auto-Sort") allows the player to enable or disable auto-sorting. If enabled the processed materials are distributed evenly over all three production lines.
The lower-left button changes the displayed energy system between Energy Units, Redstone Flux, Minecraft Joules, and Tesla. The change only affects the display; the energy is still available in all forms inside the system.
The upper-right button opens the upgrade GUI. Here the player can add upgrades such as the Energy Upgrade to improve energy efficiency.
The middle-right button opens a secondary configuration GUI to modify the access rights for this block.
The lower-right button the player changes the machine's behavior to Redstone. For example, if the option is set to "High", the Purification Factory only operates when it receives a Redstone signal.
