The Altar is a block added by JuiceWares. A single item can be placed inside of the Altar to be displayed. The item is placed in and removed from the Altar via right click. This is its only functionality. According to its source code, it appears to have been intended to be related to enchantments, but anything the developer was planning was never fully implemented.[1]
