Aercloud | |

Mod | Aether II |
Type | Solid block |
Aerclouds are blocks added by the Aether II mod. They are found scattered about in the sky in The Aether, in cloud-like formations.
Aerclouds have special effects depending on their color, of which there are 5 colors in total: Blue, Golden, Green, Storm and Purple. These special effects can be prevented entirely by holding SHIFT when landing on them.
All Aerclouds (except for the Storm Aercloud) can craft Cloud Parachutes of their respective color, with different traits.
Colors[]
Cold Aercloud | |
---|---|
Mod | Aether II |
Type | Solid block |
Cold Aercloud[]
Cold Aerclouds are the most common kind of Aercloud. They prevent all fall damage when landed on.
Alongside this, any entities on a Cold Aercloud will 'sink' until they are at the very bottom of the block and the bottom half of their model is inside of the Aercloud, after which they will stop sinking and it will be treated like a normal block. This gives the illusion that the entity is actually standing 'inside' of the cloud.
Storm Aercloud | |
---|---|
Mod | Aether II |
Type | Solid block |
Storm Aercloud[]
Storm Aerclouds are virtually identical to Cold Aerclouds, except for their color and name. However, unlike the other Aerclouds, they can not be crafted into a Cloud Parachute of any kind.
Blue Aercloud | |
---|---|
Mod | Aether II |
Type | Solid block |
Blue Aercloud[]
Blue Aerclouds are a somewhat uncommon variation of Aercloud.
They will bounce any entity that attempts to step on them, up to a maximum of 15 blocks. They do deal fall damage, so the player will need to be careful when traversing these.
Purple Aercloud | |
---|---|
Mod | Aether II |
Type | Solid block |
Purple Aercloud[]
Purple Aerclouds will 'blow' any entities standing on them forcefully into a set direction. The direction is different depending on which way they were placed. They have wind particles emanating from them.
Green Aercloud | |
---|---|
Mod | Aether II |
Type | Solid block |
Green Aercloud[]
Green Aerclouds, like Purple Aerclouds, will 'blow' any entities standing on them forcefully into a direction. However, Green Aerclouds blow entities into an entirely random direction, unlike Purple Aerclouds. This makes Green Aerclouds very hard to collect, as the item drop from them could land on a neighboring Green Aercloud and be pushed off the edge before the player gets the chance to collect it.
Golden Aercloud | |
---|---|
Mod | Aether II |
Type | Solid block |
Golden Aercloud[]
Golden Aerclouds are the rarest kind of Aercloud.
Similarly to Cold Aerclouds, Golden Aerclouds will make any entities on them sink downwards. However, on Golden Aerclouds, entities sink very fast (faster than normal falling speed), yet Golden Aerclouds are not solid, unlike Cold Aerclouds. This means that entities will not land on them - instead, they will sink all the way down and fall out, from underneath the cloud. This makes the Golden Aercloud very dangerous to harvest.
Trivia[]
- Oddly enough, Purple Aerclouds have an entirely different ID to all of the other Aerclouds. The other Aerclouds are one block with differing data values, however, Purple Aerclouds are their own block. The Purple Aercloud has a numerical ID of 180 and a string ID of aether:purpleAercloud, whereas all the others have a numerical ID of 179 and a string ID of aether:aercloud.
