The Advanced Automated Crossbow is an item and entity added by Thaumcraft 5. It is an advanced version of the Automated Crossbow.
The Advanced Automated Crossbow has a few advancements over the regular Automated Crossbow. Firstly, it has 40 Health Points instead of 30, and 8 Armor Points instead of 2, and it also shoots faster.
Additionally, right-clicking it will allow access to change what the Advanced Automated Crossbow targets. The following can be targeted:
- Animals
- Mobs [Hostile Mobs]
- Players
- Friendly
Per default, only "Mobs" is set, which is what the regular Automated Crossbow does.

The Advanced Automated Crossbow works much like its basic couterpart, with a few significant exceptions.
The addition of iron plating makes it much sturdier, and a more complicated loading mechanism gives it a greater rate of fire.
Lastly it is possible to specify the type of targets it can attack.
