Activity Detectors are machine covers added by GregTech 6 that emit redstone signals according to the type of activity of the attached machine.

Usage[]

All four Activity Detectors emit a redstone signal when a particular condition is met. The signal may be inverted by using a Screwdriver on the cover. The signal may be changed to a Strong signal by using a Wirecutter on the cover; a Strong signal will penetrate through a solid, full-cube block such as Stone adjacent to the cover, and energize any Redstone adjacent to it.

  • Possible: The machine contains enough ingredients to begin processing but is not currently processing due to not receiving power. Also emitted when the machine is actively processing a recipe.
  • Running: The machine is switched on and is receiving power, but may or may not be actively processing a recipe.
  • Processing: The machine is switched on, receiving power, and is actively processing a recipe.
  • Success: The machine has just completed a recipe. This cover emits a pulse during the tick in which a recipe is completed.

These signals may be used in conjunction with the Automatic Igniter or Redstone Machine Switch to control the power consumption of machines in setups where the Automatic Machine Switch alone is not sufficient. In particular, covers on a Burner Mixer will emit a signal for Possible and Running but not Processing if it has power and contains ingredients, but needs to be ignited before it can begin processing.

On multiblock machines, Activity Detector covers may be applied only to the controller block. If more faces of the controller (or generally, of any machine block) are needed for covers, a Universal Extender may be used to expose more faces.
