Water Wheel

ModImmersive Engineering
TypeSolid block

The Water Wheel is an item added by Immersive Engineering. It is used to generate Redstone Flux (RF) when connected to the front of a Kinetic Dynamo.

The Water Wheel must be connected to a flowing water stream in order to work, and the amount of power produced scales directly with the number of flowing water blocks adjacent to the wheel. The maximum amount of power that a Water Wheel can produce is 30 RF/t, which arises from a water source flowing "in a semi-circle from the top down one side and along the bottom."

FTB Infinity Evolved[]

Main article: FTB Infinity Evolved

Usage[]

For 3 waters in contact with the wheel, it generates 6 RF-per-tick; for 7 waters, it's 16; for 11 waters, 25; and for 13, the max, it's 30 RF-per-tick.

4 example set-ups for flowing water around a water wheel, each outputting more power than the last

Power output[]

For the maximum power generation of ~30 RF/tick per wheel, flowing water should contact as many of its edges as possible, and all water flows should turn it the same direction. Dipping one edge in a waterfall works, but not nearly as well as letting water cascade over the entire wheel and run back under.
